Concern for Spurs as journalist reveals he saw star player struggling to walk after the Villa game
Journalist Tom Barclay claimed that he saw Rodrigo Bentancur hobbling through the mixed zone after the game yesterday.
Spurs suffered their third league defeat in a row as they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Ange was forced into fielding a completely different Tottenham side compared to the one that went 10 games unbeaten at the start of the season.
The only positive for Spurs ahead of the game was the return of Bentancur, who made his first start for the team since February.
But the joy was short lived as he suffered an ankle injury following Matty Cash’s rash tackle on him in what is yet another major setback for Spurs.
He was forced off and replaced by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but his absence was felt by the Tottenham side.
Barclay reporting the game live, shared the latest on the midfielder on his X account.
He posted: “Rodrigo Bentancur just came hobbling through the mixed zone, clearly a painful one.”

Spurs were brilliant despite their weakened time bit Ange’s men relentlessly in attack. They had 18 shots, 8 of them on target. They missed three sitter, saw three goals disallowed for offside and a number of them saved by the Villa keeper.
The final result did not reflect the home team’s performance who were unlucky to walk away without a point from the game.
Things continue to get tough for Ange as injuries pile up and so does the defeats. January can not come soon enough for Spurs who will need to be on their toes to make several signings in order to bolster their squad.
