REPORTS – Aston villa star Olie Watkins gives his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur under Ange Postecoglou and send a three-word message to Tottenham after Spurs defeat at White Hart Lane.

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur after playing against Ange Postecoglou’s side at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Villa came from behind to beat Tottenham in North London on Sunday.

So, what has Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins said about Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Aston Villa beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Villa came from behind to pick up all three points from the match. Ollie Watkins scored the winner in the 61st minute.

After the match, Watkins praised Spurs for the way they play under head coach Ange Postecoglou.

Watkins told Sky Sports about Tottenham: “They are a top side, they deserve to be where they are in the league because of the football they are playing, so it was a really tough game.”

Tottenham Hotspur need to step up their game

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou needs to be more pragmatic.

While it is commendable that Postecoglou wants to play attacking and gung-ho football all the time, the problem is that, unlike at Celtic, he does not have the best squad in the Premier League.

Tottenham have now lost three successive Premier League matches. Not so long ago, Spurs were supposedly going to challenge for the title.

True, Spurs have a lot of injury problems. There is a suspension issue with Cristian Romero as well. Perhaps Tottenham are starting to miss a world-class and clinical striker like Harry Kane.

But, you still need to ask why Tottenham are conceding goals after taking the lead.

Spurs shipped in two late goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Tottenham went ahead against Villa midway through the first half, but they still lost 2-1.

You could point to the fact that Tottenham created a lot of chances against Villa. Maybe, if they had taken them, then they could have won the match.

But, when Villa are taking 15 shots, you have to ask why Tottenham are not better at defending and keeping the opposition players far away from the danger-zone.
