FA draw… As Tottenham will kick start the FA at Home with a premier league rival team
Burnley have been given an away tie in the third round of this season’s FA Cup with a time against Tottenham Hotspur to be played over the first weekend in January.
Burnley against Spurs is not a rare event in this competition. We’d played them twice in early days but then came up against them four times in six seasons in the early 1960s, losing three of them, one in a semi-final and a year later in the final, with the only win a 3-0 success at White Hart Lane in the third round a year after the final. More recently we were beaten in a third round replay at White Hart Lane nine years ago.
