Ange Postecoglou surprises his Tottenham players as two stars near injury return to his squad

Ange Postecoglou surprised his Tottenham Hotspur players with an angry half-time team talk as they put in a sloppy shift in the first half of their 3-3 draw at Manchester City.
Spurs continually gave the ball away after taking an early lead through Son Heung-min at the Etihad Stadium and were fortunate that the wasteful finishing of Pep Guardiola’s side meant they were only 2-1 down at the break in the Premier League match on Sunday evening. They returned to the dressing room to an angry Australian who made his feelings very clear.
“The coach was very angry at half-time and we came out like a new team,” said goalscorer Dejan Kulusevski. “Vic and the guys at the back never lost the ball, kept playing, kept playing, believed in themselves, no pressure. I was very impressed with them.
“[The gaffer said to us] ‘can you just start playing, stop making simple mistakes, just play. You are good enough and you’re as good as these guys so just please play and don’t be afraid’. He was very angry and it was the first time I’ve seen him like that but he did the right thing and he’s right because the only thing we had to do was just grow a little bit more.
“We needed to be stronger, we are here, we can play against the best and if we can do that we’ll be up the top at the end of the season, I’m sure.”
