Just In- Tottenham just can’t afford to sign £70M player in January.. as he is expected to be a perfect replacement for Harry kane
Tottenham have work to do in the January transfer window.
The north London club’s lack of squad depth has been exposed by their recent injury crisis, while they still haven’t properly replaced Harry Kane.
Luckily, we’re just weeks away from the transfer window opening, and Spurs have been linked with a number of potential new additions.
One player who has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs for a long time now is Ivan Toney, but according to The Mail’s Josh Hughes, this deal won’t be easy to do.
Indeed, speaking on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, the journalist has been discussing Tottenham’s interest in Toney, and while he says the striker is someone the club like, the player’s asking price is just too high.
Toney too expensive
Hughes shared what he knows about the £70m man.
“Spurs do like Ivan Toney, I don’t think that’s a secret, a lot of clubs like Ivan Toney. Again though, I can’t see Ivan Toney moving to Spurs this window. The asking price is just too high, Brentford are going to ask for as much money as they want because they know how valuable he is,” Hughes said.
A lot for Ivan Toney
We can understand why Spurs would be hesitant to spend big money in toney at this point
