“Though he’s been exceptional, but formalities must be made”: Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that ‘incredible’ Spurs sensation will start vs Bournemouth ahead of Kulusevski after an outstanding training performance.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has suggested that Giovani Lo Celso could start against Bournemouth in place of Dejan Kulusevski.

Spurs have a ton of players unavailable at the moment, and the last thing they needed was another one of their stars to miss out. Kulusevski picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Premier League game against Brighton, and he will be suspended tomorrow.

Ange Postecoglou suggests Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso could start vs Bournemouth

Dejan Kulusevski has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season.

The Swede has performed brilliantly for Spurs, be it on the right wing or in a number 10 role, where he filled James Maddison‘s void very well.

Kulusevski will be a big miss for Tottenham against Bournemouth tomorrow, and Ange Postecoglou has a decision to make over who will start in his position.

A journalist asked the Spurs boss if Giovani Lo Celso will now get a chance against Bournemouth because he was on a good run before he ‘dropped out of the team’.

Postecoglou claimed the only reason Lo Celso wasn’t picked to start recently was because he was injured, but he is now fit, available and looking good, suggesting he could start for Tottenham tomorrow.

“He dropped out of the team because he was injured. It wasn’t by decision. He was going well when he got injured,” Postecoglou said in his press conference.

“We’re going to have to make another adjustment there (in Kulusevski’s position). I thought Gio when he came on today was good. He was good last week when he came on. It’s good to have him back fit and available.”

Lo Celso needs to step up for Tottenham

It’s bad enough for Tottenham that James Maddison is injured, but now that Dejan Kulusevski is unavailable as well, it won’t be easy for them.

However, Lo Celso has already shown how good he can be under Ange Postecoglou, scoring goals against Manchester City and Aston Villa in back-to-back games.

The ‘incredible‘ Argentine will have to step up again for Tottenham, more so than before. He needs to create chances and perhaps score a goal himself to help Spurs return to winning ways.

It will be interesting to see how Tottenham will line up against Bournemouth tomorrow.
