“A deal Tottenham might regret”: Fabrizio Romano claims overseas table-toppers finally reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign £180k-a-week Spur’s ‘sensation’ [should Spurs let him go?]
Fabrizio Romano has provided a transfer update involving Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic.
Romano, taking to X on Friday night, said the Spurs attacker remains a January target for Hajduk Split.
The transfer insider says the Croatian table-toppers are “still dreaming” of Perisic as their top target.
“Understand they will try again their best to make the deal happen in January,” added Romano.
The Italian also said Perisic’s recovery from an ACL injury is going well, and that “a lot depends” on whether doctors say he could return before May.

Ivan Perisic seems unlikely to play for Tottenham Hotspur again
Perisic‘s future remains uncertain due to the fact his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expires at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, the Croatian table-toppers have been linked with the £180,000-a-week Spurs man – who began his career at the club – over the past few months.
For instance, Sportske Novosti claimed in September that Hajduk have a verbal agreement in place with Tottenham for Perisic’s transfer.
More recently, Hajduk boss Mislav Karoglan told the Dalmatinski Portal that he would be pleased if his club could sign the Spurs left-footer at some point.
Let’s see what happens in the coming weeks. It looks unlikely that Perisic will play for Tottenham again, as per Ange Postecoglou’s comments a week ago, but whether there’ll be a January transfer remains to be seen.
Perisic spent six years with Hajduk’s before joining Sochaux in 2006 and embarking on an illustrious career at the pinnacle of European football.
The Spurs ace has won a host of trophies, including the treble with Bayern Munich in 2020, the 2021 Serie A title with Inter, and the German double with Borussia Dortmund in 2012.
Perisic joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022 and has gone on to make 50 competitive appearances for the Lilywhites.
