“With him on the line up, am always sure of a win”: Guglielmo Vicario blown away by ‘amazing’ 24-year-old Spurs teammate

“With him on the line up, am always sure of a win”: Guglielmo Vicario blown away by ‘amazing’ 24-year-old Spurs teammate.

Guglielmo Vicario has suggested that his Tottenham Hotspur teammate produced a moment of ‘unbelievable’ quality in their most recent game which left the goalkeeper amazed.

It has often been Guglielmo Vicario who has attracted the plaudits for his performances this season. While Ange Postecoglou’s side have played some stunning football, the Italian has often been there whenever the team have needed him. Vicario has arguably been the best goalkeeper in the Premier League this season.

And he kept a clean sheet in the FA Cup win over Burnley a week ago. The decisive moment in the tie came from the feet of Pedro Porro 12 minutes before the end.

Guglielmo Vicario so impressed by Pedro Porro

Porro won back possession as Burnley attempted to launch a counter attack. It was – unsurprisingly with Tottenham – quite crucial he regained the ball as the home side had committed so many bodies forward.

But not only did the Spaniard get the ball back, he also managed to find the top corner with a stunning strike from outside the box.

It was a strike which summed up the right-back’s superb season. And speaking on Inside Spurs, Vicario suggested that he was blown away from his position.

“Wow, unbelievable from the back,” he said. “Massive take to recover the ball and the shot was unbelievable, really unbelievable. Amazing goal, very important for us to take the lead of the game and, of course, win the game. It was a crucial moment for us.”

Tottenham right-back looks a different player this season

Porro was one of a number of players who really struggled for form last season. He arrived having really impressed with Sporting. But he was poor as Tottenham toiled for the rest of the campaign.

However, the appointment of Postecoglou has changed the game for a number of players, including the 24-year-old.

His strike against Burnley was his first goal of the campaign. But he also has seven assists in the Premier League. He has certainly become an unbelievable performer for Tottenham.
