Tottenham Hotspur would likely have to pay a transfer fee north of £50million if they wish to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke this summer, according to Football Insider.
Solanke has had an impressive first half to the Premier League campaign having scored 12 goals in 19 top flight outings to help the Cherries to the lofty heights of twelfth place in the table.
Tottenham are yet to move to sign a permanent replacement for Harry Kane, who swapped North London for Bayern Munich ahead of the current campaign with Ange Postecoglou deciding to bring in Timo Werner last week on loan to bolster the club’s attacking options with captain Heung-min Son currently on international duty at the Asia Cup with South Korea.
The report claims that Bournemouth are already bracing themselves for offers for the former Liverpool forward with Newcastle United also keen on his services having experienced a shortage of strikers with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson both having missed game time through injury.
Is Dominic Solanke a replacement for Harry Kane?
Tottenham have so far managed to share the goals around the team better than they did last season where the goalscoring responsibility rested heavily on the shoulders of Harry Kane. Heung-min Son and more recently, Richarlison have both stepped up to take on the responsibility.
Solanke only signed a new contract with Bournemouth last summer which keeps him committed to Andoni Iraola’s side until the middle of June 2027 which certainly puts the south coast outfit in a strong negotiating position with interested parties.
Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur both found themselves in the scoresheet in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Manchester United yesterday afternoon.

Dominic Solanke has had a good start to the season, however, a fee in excess of £50million for a player who is experiencing a purple patch is a big risk.
The 26-year-old only managed to score six times in 33 Premier League appearances last season and if Tottenham are to shell out a sizeable fee, they need a player who can guarantee goals year after year (transfermarkt).
