“Just give me a chance to prove myself to fans before leaving”: Tottenham hotspur youngster who’s edging close to a loan deal to Serie A is now desperate to prove himself to Ange Postecoglou and all fans.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that even though Troy Parrott is attracting a lot of interest, the striker remains keen to prove himself at Tottenham Hotspur.

After struggling to hit the expected heights during his loan spells in the Championship and League One over the last few years, Parrott is now finally starting to show at Excelsior Rotterdam just why so many people at Spurs and in his native Ireland are so excited about his potential.

The 21-year-old scored one and set one up in the Eredivisie side’s 3-0 win over Heerenveen on Saturday, which takes his tally up to nine goal contributions in 15 league appearances so far this season.

Interest growing in Tottenham’s Troy Parrott

Gold has now revealed that the Republic of Ireland international is now attracting interest from several Serie A and Championship sides.

However, Parrott is thought to be desperate to prove himself at Spurs, with the striker wanting to catch Ange Postecoglou’s attention after failing to do so last summer owing to an injury.

Gold reveals that Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the youngster’s development, with the club’s head of football strategy Andy Scoulding said to have travelled to the Netherlands to watch the striker on five occasions this season.

The journalist adds that Parrott will remain at Rotterdam until the end of the season and Spurs will make a decision next summer on whether to loan out the player again.

Postecoglou himself will be keen on taking a closer look at Parrott and we know that the Australian is not shy of handing opportunities to youngsters if he feels they are good enough.

The striker will be hoping to continue his current run of form in the Eredivisie and return to Hotspur Way for pre-season high on confidence.
