“Playing me against Manchester United last week won’t convince me to stay”: Tottenham hotspur star now open up to Ange Postecoglou about his desperation to exit White Hart Lane for more playing time

“Playing me against Manchester United last week won’t convince me to stay”: Tottenham hotspur star now open up to Ange Postecoglou about his desperation to exit White Hart Lane for more playing time.

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is still looking at possibly leaving the club this month in the search of first-team football.

Hojbjerg played 90 minutes in the draw with Manchester United last weekend and impressed in the game.

However, the Dane has not been a regular for Ange Postecoglou this season and there’s been intense speculation about his next move.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg still open to Tottenham exit

A number of clubs are keen. Juventus have had a long-standing interest, while midweek claims suggested teams in England were keen on taking £15m Hojbjerg off Spurs’ hands as well, with Ajax also a club getting a mention.

And now, according to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Hojbjerg is still actively considering making a move away from Spurs this month.

Taking to X to share an update on the Danish star, Plettenberg has said that Juventus remain keen, with Bayern Munich apparently backing away for now.

At the moment, Tottenham still have a number of injury issues and Hojbjerg is set to be a key player, especially with players out over in the AFCON as well.

Spurs must keep Hojbjerg for now

It’s been a frustrating season for the midfielder in the main but he remains a key part of this Tottenham squad and for now, he must be kept around.

Hojbjerg is very much a model professional at Spurs and he shows that whenever he comes into the team to do his job.

Unless there is a sudden influx of new signings this month, which is unlikely, then it makes no sense for Spurs to even consider letting Hojbjerg go.

If they do let him leave, then it has to be for a big fee and Postecoglou then has to be backed to bring in replacements as well.

Failure to do either of those would make this a pointless exit and a ultimately, make Spurs’ squad weaker.
