Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with OGC Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo’s agent over a possible move for the defender.
Telefoot has shared the latest on Todibo’s future, with Tottenham, Chelsea and Napoli all in contact with the player’s entourage.
Spurs were previously linked with a move for the defender before snapping up Radu Dragusin from Genoa earlier this month.
Fabrizio Romano even claimed that Tottenham were willing to put ‘big money on the table’ to land the Frenchman but Nice refused to negotiate.
And while Nice’s stance appears to have remained the same, Spurs are one of three clubs still in talks over a potential move for the defender.
Tottenham remain keen on Todibo
Tottenham, Chelsea and Napoli have all held talks with Todibo’s agent recently, Telefoot reports.
But Nice have no intention of selling the 24-year-old this month as they continue to compete with PSG for the Ligue 1 title.
However, should Todibo keep up his current level of performances, Nice will be looking for a club-record fee worth around £52 million in the summer.
A move for Todibo was ruled out earlier this month, which ultimately led to Spurs focusing on the signing of Dragusin.
Spurs finally delivered Ange Postecoglou that much-needed addition in defence but they continue to be linked with moves for centre-backs.
For the time being, the Aussie seems well-stocked in central defence, with three first-team quality options in the position.
But it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club switch their focus back to central defence come the summer as they search for that fourth option.
As for Todibo, he would certainly provide Postecoglou with another top-quality defender. Yet, a move for the former Barcelona man would make little sense at the moment.
It’s well-documented that Tottenham have switched their focus to the midfield after Dragusin’s arrival and Nice clearly have no intention of selling their star man.
