Troy Parrott’s MOTM performance for Excelsior
Spurs allowed the young forward to join Excelsior Rotterdam in the Eredivisie on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old Republic of Ireland international spent the 22/23 campaign on loan at Preston but now has taken the plunge to go abroad and make a name for himself away from North London.
He’s making quite the impact, scoring six goals in 18 games. But, his finest performance whilst in the Netherlands came at the weekend.
Parrott got a goal and an assist as Excelsior Rotterdam emerged 3-0 winners over Heerenveen at home on Saturday.
The forward also grabbed the Man of the Match award for his efforts. His fantastic game is reflected in his stats below:
- 90 minutes played
- 1 goal
- 1 assist
- 36 touches
- 1/1 successful dribbles (100%)
- 2 times dispossessed
- 8.7 rating
- MOTM

A statement to Ange Postecoglou?
The 21-year-old has had a series of unsuccessful loan spells but has found some sort of form out of England.
This does make a statement to the manager, who will no doubt be on the hunt for a number nine to compete with Richarlison and fill the void that Harry Kane left in the summer.
Could Parrott be that man? Perhaps, but the Premier League is a different kettle of fish. Nevertheless, it’s nice to see him thriving away from Hotspur Way.
