DONE DEAL IMMINENT – Tottenham now set to make one of the most ‘shocking’ moves of the whole transfer window as Levy set to land third January transfer hours before the window closes.

It’s become quite clear that neither Tottenham Hotspur or Daniel Levy are quite finished with their business ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

Whilst a move for Antonio Nusa appears to have fallen through, Spurs remain in the market for opportunities.

It seemed for a long while that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg would leave this month, however, he’s now confirmed his commitment to Ange Postecoglou’s cause.

So that perhaps leaves Bryan Gil as the most likely candidate for a North London exit – one to watch.

That being said, Tottenham and Levy seem very alert to opportunities before tomorrow’s deadline, and it seems the long chase for Conor Gallagher isn’t over, yet.

Perhaps the Nusa deal falling through has forced Spurs’ hand a little, they seem intent on one more signing.

And with it now reported that Spurs are considering a fresh deal for Gallager, journalist Luke Edwards has provided further update.

Speaking on the BBC’s ‘Transfer Gossip Daily’, Edwards discussed the possibility of a ‘shock’ move.

Explaining the situation in full, Edwards said: “It’s really interesting. I said that it would be complete and utter madness for Chelsea to sell the player they have given their captain’s armband to under Pochettino.

“But it comes down to business logic. He has 18 months left on his deal and he has been made available, a soft availability is what I call it. The world of football has known Conor Gallagher, if you pay the right money he will be allowed to leave.

“Tottenham have had a long standing interest, Tottenham sold Harry Kane for pure profit and they have got the room to do stuff this month that other clubs.

“I just wonder, if Tottenham put in a £40 or £50 million bid, probably £50 million for Conor Gallagher, it would be accepted.

“And I think that’s a real shame. Because they went and spent £115 million on Moises Caicedo and £100 million on Enzo Fernandez they are now in a position where they have to sell this player who has come through the system to their biggest rivals.

“I think that would be one of the most shocking, the most talked about, the most headline grabbing transfers. It’s been rumoured all month.

“If Tottenham are going to make their move they will have to do it in the next 48 hours but that’s definitely one of the more controversial transfers that could happen.”

Of course, it really would be a seismic move, one that wouldn’t sit well with Chelsea fans.

Daniel Levy is always open to opportunities to improve his Tottenham side, and this could be a rare opportunity so close to the deadline.

Were Spurs to also reignite interest in a deal for Nusa, following his Brentford’s move breaking down, it seems unlikely that they’d move for both.

However, one of the two does now feel increasingly realistic.

That being said, it’s now been made clear how Spurs staff feel about a late move for Gallagher.
