Tottenham fans stuck to their word as they held a protest during the 2-1 victory over Luton Town on Saturday (30 March).
Supporters turned their back on the field of play in the 65th minute of the match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in footage shared on social media.
As commented on by football finance expert Kieran Maguire via X [31 March], the protest was in relation to a financial decision taken by Spurs.

The club recently announced that they will be removing the concession for new season ticket holders aged 65 and above.
This is basically seen as a ploy to price senior citizen season ticket holders out of the club, freeing up more spaces for tourists to purchase tickets.
These tickets will no doubt be priced high with Daniel Levy and others involved in financial decisions fully aware they will sell regardless.
Thanks to this protest, and the footage shared on social media, the wider world will now be aware of this poor decision taken by the club.
Indeed, Levy may well be having second thoughts should the protests continue as he risks alienating the fanbase.

That is the last thing that is needed at a time when Ange Postecoglou has worked so hard to unite supporters.

Factor in the six-per-cent rise in season ticket prices next season, and it is clear why supporters are annoyed across the board.
While it may help bring in more money, and potentially widen the club’s fanbase, that simply cannot come at the expense of riling matchgoing regulars.
Whether Levy takes note and backtracks, though, is another matter entirely.
