Jamie O’Hara has defended Spurs fans for wanting their side to lose against Manchester City, with the pundit insisting that the club’s hopes of finishing in the top four had been thrown away in the last five games rather than on Tuesday.
Heading into the clash against City, Spurs still had a shot at pipping Aston Villa to a fourth-place finish if they had got three points against the Premier League champions.
However, the majority of Tottenham fans did not want to see their side win as that would have essentially meant delivering the Premier League title to Arsenal.
In the end, the Spurs players delivered an excellent showing despite the subdued atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and could have easily emerged with a result if they had taken their chances.
Postecoglou seemed quite angry in his post-match press conference, insisting that the 48 hours leading up to the City clash had exposed the ‘fragility’ at the club (Football.London).
O’Hara disagrees with Postecoglou’s fan criticism

Postecoglou was evidently frustrated that the Tottenham fans at the stadium were not doing all they could to push the side on Tuesday.
However, for him to suggest that Spurs fans wanting their side to lose is a sign of ‘fragility’ is quite surprising. Surely the Australian has enough experience in the game to know how these sorts of rivalries work.
