Fans Furious as Reports Reveals Tottenham Recent Plans to Axe Richarlison and Sign £19m Striker Who Happens to be an Arsenal fan.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign an English striker who grew up an Arsenal fan.

Spurs had a decent season in the Premier League, but just two wins in the last seven games of their season crushed their hopes of finishing inside the top four.

Ange Postecoglou was clearly frustrated with that, and Tottenham are expected to be very active once the transfer window opens in June. A new striker is on the wish list.

Tottenham eye Dominic Solanke after making Richarlison decision

Tottenham made the bold decision of not replacing Harry Kane after he left for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

The England captain was undoubtedly Spurs’ best player. He was incredible for them and was always going to be a big miss after his departure.

However, Tottenham coped fairly well without Kane. Skipper Heung-min Son and Richarlison did a decent job up front, scoring a combined 29 goals in all competitions.

Spurs are now expected to focus on signing an out-and-out striker ahead of the 2024/25 season, and they have been linked with quite a few names.

TalkSPORT claimed on Tuesday that Ange Postecoglou’s side are contemplating a summer swoop for Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth.

The £19 million (BBC) Englishman had a fine campaign for the Cherries, scoring 21 goals, 19 of which came in the Premier League.

The report claims that Bournemouth will demand a ‘hefty bid’ to let Solanke go, which is fair after the kind of season he has had.

Then, the report adds that Tottenham boss Postecoglou is ready to sell Richarlison in order to raise funds to strengthen his side this summer.

What Solanke has said about Tottenham’s fierce rivals Arsenal

Tottenham and Arsenal share a fierce rivalry – the two sets of fans just don’t like each other.

However, there have been a few examples where players who supported the Gunners ended up playing for Spurs later in their careers.

Harry Kane is one of them, while current Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski also used to be an Arsenal supporter when he was younger.

Now, if Spurs sign Dominic Solanke, they could have another player who grew up an Arsenal fan in their side.

When asked about his first football shirt, Solanke said earlier in May: “It would probably be Arsenal. My Dad was an Arsenal fan so I used to follow them.”
