NEWS NOW – Journalist reveals SHOCKING reasons why Tottenham must accept bid for Rodrigo Bentancur amidst Turkey links.

Surprise departure? Bentancur linked with Galatasaray move as Spurs consider overhaul

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has emerged as a surprise name linked with a White Hart Lane exit this summer.

Spurs have played some impressive football since the Australian gaffer took over the reins at N17, taking the club from a struggling Big Six side to one of the most anticipated and exciting teams in all of Europe.

This is a massive step forward by the club as they push to grow the club and compound on success at White Hart Lane. To top off the progress that the club has achieved under Ange’s tutelage, Daniel Levy & Co. are looking to sign high-potential players to raise the ceiling of the squad going into the next campaign.

While they look to add new faces at Hotspur Way, there will need to be departures to open up space in the dressing room as the North Londoners stare at a mass overhaul this summer as they look to revamp the roster at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal going into the next season.

Uruguayan maestro Rodrigo Bentancur has been one of the surprise names linked with a move away from Spurs. The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Galatasaray as the Turkish giants look to test the waters of Tottenham’s resolve with an initial bid to snap his signatures this summer.

While he has been a great servant to the club since joining from Juventus a couple of years ago, there are a few matters of concern that should spur Spurs into selling the 27-year-old this summer.

Benta time up?

To start with, Rodrigo has been unlucky with injuries. He has missed 49 games with different injuries in his two years at White Hart Lane. A massive chunk of those came in a cruciate ligament tear last season, although this has caused problems for him to have extended time in the team and to establish his presence in midfield.

Moreover, to add to the problems, he has recently made some racial slurs, which have not gone down well with his supporters. And while Son has made amends for it, the FA may still take action and ban him from participating in future matches.

Now looking at this from a pure playing perspective, Tottenham need a high-intensity player who can complement the aggressive nature of Ange’s football, and the club has been linked with such players during the ongoing transfer window. Any incoming in the department would eventually demote Bentancur to a bench role, and it would be better for the club to sell right away before dipping in price.
