π¨ NEWS IN: “ITS A NO BRAINER” – HARRY KANE SENDS CLEAR MESSAGE ABOUT HIS SPURS CAREER AHEAD OF EURO 2024 FINAL: IS HE COMING BACK?
Harry Kane has won countless personal accolades during his playing career, but none of it means anything compared to the prospect of lifting the trophy in the Euro 2024 final for England.
Kane would swap it all for Euro 2024 win
The England captain has the chance to lead his country to glory in Berlin as the Three Lions take on the much-fancied form team, Spain in the curtain closer for Euro 2024.
Speaking to The Standard ahead of the game, Kane discussed just how important it would be for him to win the tournament and finally end his own trophy drought, and was asked whether he would swap all his Golden Boot and Player of the Year awards which he scooped during his time at Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for victory over Spain.
He said: βYeah, for sure. Of course, itβs no secret that I havenβt won a team trophy and ever year goes by Iβm more motivated and more determined to change that.
βTomorrow night I have an opportunity to win one of the biggest you could ever win and make history with my nation, [and] Iβm extremely proud to be English.
βNo question, Iβd swap everything Iβve done in my career to have a special night and a win tomorrow evening. Thatβs not the case. Thereβs a lot of hard work until that moment but Iβm really determined to make tomorrow night a special one.β
Can Kane bag his first piece of competitive silverware?
Kaneβs high-profile switch from Tottenham to Bayern Munich last summer was supposed to signal the end of his wait for a major club trophy. That didnβt work out, though, with Bayer Leverkusen storming to the Bundesliga title despite Kaneβs best efforts in front of goal.
The 30-year-old will be looking to go one better with England on this evening, after seeing his country fall at the final hurdle in the Euro 2020 final three years ago, losing on penalties to Italy.
