Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are just a few of the clubs that have been linked with Desire Doue in recent weeks.

The Lilywhites, the Gunners, the Villans and the Magpies will be eager to strengthen their respective ranks ahead of the new Premier League season.

Tottenham finished fifth in the table last term, so they’ll want to bring in reinforcements to deal with the extra workload of the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Arsenal came close to winning the title once again and will be eager to bolster their ranks and go all the way in 2024/25.

Villa will want to make a good impression on their return to the Champions League, while Newcastle will want to return to the top four after missing out last term.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with Doue in recent days, while TBR Football sources revealed in May that Arsenal, Villa and Newcastle are also on the case.

Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the 19-year-old Rennes midfielder, who is also sought after by Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Romano, taking to X, has reported that Doue will make a decision on his future in the coming days.

The transfer insider also claimed that PSG sent their first proposal to Rennes today and will keep pushing for the player’s signature.

Fellow overseas suitors Bayern are also planning to return after their first bid was rejected by the Ligue 1 side, added Romano.

Doue tipped to become ‘unplayable’

Doue shone for Rennes in 2023/24, making 17 starts in Ligue 1 as he scored four goals and provided five assists in France’s top-flight.

Rennes teammate Baptiste Santamaria recently said the 19-year-old could become ‘unplayable’ in years to come.

“He’s a very talented player with a great sense of football,” he told TNT Sports last month. “But he’s still young. But he’s a player who aspires to go to the biggest clubs.

“He’s one of a kind: he likes to hit the ball but he’s solid on his feet. Desire’s technical, percussive and physical qualities are quite incredible.

“When he becomes more consistent, he’ll be unplayable. For his age, he’s the most gifted youngster I’ve seen in my career.”

Doue is a top talent and it’ll be good to see whether the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Villa and Newcastle will make a final push to try and sign him.
