π¨ END OF AN ERA π¨
Former Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has sent and emotional message to all fans as he declares EXIT from club after years of coaching staff at Tottenham.
Jermain Defoe has confirmed he will leave his coaching role at Tottenham to focus on the next step in his career.
The 41-year-old former Spurs striker brought an end to his playing career in March 2022 and began his transition into coaching later that summer.
Defoe worked across the U17 to U21 squads at Spurs, having also undertaken coaching duties as part of Steven Gerrardβs staff at Rangers during the final few years of his playing days.
βFor the past two seasons I have thoroughly enjoyed my coaching time at THFC,β said Defoe on Instagram.
βToday I leave this incredible club, and I want to say thank you to all the amazing people in the building who have helped me learn and grow.
βIt has been a pleasure to achieve so much at Spurs including reaching UEFA A coaching status which was always an ambition of mine following my playing career.
βSpurs will always hold a special place in my heart and the fans already know how much the club means to me.
βHowever, now is the right time for me to move on and shape the rest of my coaching and managerial career, nevertheless I will forever remember my time at Spurs fondly.
βAll great journeys eventually come to an end and I wish everyone at the club nothing but the best for the coming season and the future.
βUntil next time.β
