🗣️ It’s a no-brainer!
🗣️ Our first two games says it all!
🗣️ We need a STRIKER for sure!
Ange Postecoglou has make a BOLD move, declare who he wants upfront amid Toney, Giminez, David and Gyokeres links! Now preparing a BLOCKBUSTER bid for Harry Kane’s long-lost striking double!
Ange Postecoglou is said to be preparing a ‘lowball offer’ to sign a new striker for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Spurs have had a very good window so far. They have re-signed Timo Werner on another loan deal and have brought in Archie Gray from Leeds United.
To add to that, the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon and most recently, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, have all left the club.
Postecoglou is keen to make a few more signings in the coming weeks, and a new striker is expected to be high on the wish list
Here’s an update on one of their key targets.
The latest on Tottenham’s interest in Ivan Toney
Tottenham have been linked with a move to sign Ivan Toney for a long time now.
The Brentford striker is expected to be a wanted man in this window having entered the final year of his contract. There is a big chance he will leave.
The Englishman has several admirers across the Premier League, and reports have claimed that Tottenham are the likeliest club to sign Toney.
GiveMeSport have now backed the above claim and have shared a few more details.
It has been revealed that Toney is more likely to join Tottenham than West Ham United ‘because they have not been actively negotiating deals for alternative targets’. The Hammers are pushing to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.
The report adds that Spurs are confident that his price tag will drop even further in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, it has been claimed that Postecoglou is preparing to ‘make a lowball offer’ to sign Toney ahead of West Ham.
It remains to be seen how much Spurs will offer and whether Brentford will entertain their bid.
What Declan Rice once said about Ivan Toney is now very interesting
Toney has been brilliant for Brentford over the years.
The Englishman has directly contributed to 95 goals in 141 appearances for the Bees, which is a fantastic return. He really is a talented player and is good enough to play for a much bigger club.
Declan Rice has played with several outstanding players over the years. He is a great judge of who is a good player and who is not, and his comments on Toney will excite Tottenham fans.
Rice compared Toney to Harry Kane, who is still a hero to many Spurs supporters.
Rice said in 2022: “I think from the moment he stepped in the Premier League he’s taken it by storm. If you look at what he does for Brentford, how consistent he is and what he does for his team, he’s fully deserving of a call-up.
“He’s kind of like Harry Kane in a way where he’s not only an out-and-out striker, he’s a playmaker as well – his left and right-footed passing, the way he picks out his teammates is a special technique to have. I’m looking forward to playing with him.”
