Tottenham attacker Bryan Gil is in advanced talks to join Spanish club Girona, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs have granted Gil, 23, to speak to other clubs following his omission from their pre-season squad for their tour of Japan and Korea.
The north London club are willing to listen to loan and permanent offers for the left-winger but would prefer for Gil to leave permanently.
A deal is now edging closer with Girona who qualified for the Champions League last season, finishing four points below Barcelona in third.
Gil joined Tottenham back in 2021 for a £21.6m fee with Erik Lamela moving to Sevilla as part of the deal (The Sun).
Spurs are happy to let Bryan Gil leave
Since joining the club back in 2021, Gil has only made 43 appearances for the club, failing to score a single goal.
Following a disappointing start to his career at Spurs, Gil was shipped out on loan to Valencia on January 2022 where he also failed to score.
It was a similar story the following season. This time Gil joined boyhood club Sevilla in January 2023 but managed to score twice during his tenure.
With his omission from Spur’s pre-season squad, it’s clear the club no longer has any faith in his ability to make an impact for them.
It’s unlikely Gil will be the only departure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Football Insider revealed (July 21) Spurs would be willing to let Oliver Skipp leave so long as they sign a home-grown replacement.
