Several clubs are interested, but Eberechi Eze only wants ONE team and he’s holding out just for them. Risky move and tactic! 👀
The Mirror report that Eberechi Eze already knows who he would prefer to join if both Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur make an acceptable offer for him this summer (23/07/24 – back page).
Tottenham want Eberechi Eze
Spurs have been linked with a potential move for Eze all summer long, with the Crystal Palace creator said to be one of Ange Postecoglou’s top targets for the transfer window (TEAMtalk).
The Athletic originally reported that Manchester City would not follow up on their interest in the player this summer, but The Mirror believe that could change if Kevin de Bruyne leaves the club.
Football Transfers reported that people at Spurs see Eze as a potential long-term successor to Heung-min Son over the long term, and the Crystal Palace star would prefer to remain in London (GiveMeSport).
Unfortunately, if The Mirror’s latest update is to be believed, that may not actually be the case.
Eze would prefer Man City over Tottenham
On the back page of the Mirror, it has been reported that Man City are long-term admirers of Eberechi Eze and almost made a move for him last summer but opted for Wolves’ Matheus Nunes instead.
Fast forward to this summer, and the Citizens could return for Eze, who would reportedly be more attracted by the prospect of a move to the Etihad over the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Neither club has actually made an offer to Crystal Palace yet, with Eze having a release clause of £60m plus add-ons this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I’m not sure this is really the case anymore with Man City, especially with talented English players.
We have seen what happened to Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips after joining the Pep Guardiola machine – their minutes dried up, their England prospects vanished, and their careers stalled.
Tottenham, at the very least, offer regular first-team football and a chance to prove yourself.
