Federico Chiesa has been linked with a move to Tottenham recently. Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing Spurs’ interest in Chiesa, and he says that he’s had this rumour played up to him, stating that this move is possible. Jones shared what he knows about the ‘world class’ Juventus star.“I was quite excited for Spurs in the sense of tracking Chiesa’s availability,” Jones said.
“The versatility of Chiesa would be ideal for that team. I actually had it played up to me last week the transfer and the prospect of it. Chiesa has been offered all around the Premier League and Tottenham, I was told, had a bit of a nibble on that. When you consider what they’d have to pay for Neto or Eze, Chiesa would be cheaper than that.”
There are a number of rumours doing the rounds regarding Chiesa at the moment, and fuel has only been poured on this fire recently.
Indeed, an agent has recently gone on the record to state that a number of clubs are in for Chiesa.
“He is an outgoing player,” He said. “The technical plans have changed and evidently the new coach does not see him among the primary players
“That said, if he continues to ask for a salary higher than €6million… I know that West Ham, Manchester United and Chelsea were following him.
“I guarantee you that West Ham would not even give him €6million. Chelsea cannot do crazy things and United would go for other profiles.
“Napoli? Maybe it could be the signing of August 30th.”
Interestingly, this agent didn’t mention Tottenham here, but, by the sounds of it, Spurs are still very much in this race.
Chiesa will be leaving Juventus before the transfer deadline, and it wouldn’t be a shock if he ended up in the Premier League this summer.
