The Eddie Howe Liverpool Press Conference has taken place.
The Newcastle United Head Coach speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday nightβs match at St Jamesβ Park.
Eddie Howe and the players hoping to bounce back from that defeat to West Ham at St Jamesβ Park and the draw at Crystal Palace, when NUFC struggled for goal threat.
Having had that trio of victories over Chelsea, Arsenal and Forest before the most recent international break.
Eddie Howe Liverpool press conference on Tuesday:
Eddie Howe on Alexander Isak and Dan Burnβs availability:
βAlex took a knock to his hip.
βWe havenβt seen him in training yet but we donβt think itβs a long-term injury.
βDan got through the game well.
βWhen he got suspended, we used that as an opportunity to look after his ankle and get himself fit.
βHe was outstanding against Crystal Palace and he came through the game okay.β
Eddie Howe on the challenge Liverpool pose:
βLiverpool are very good, very strong β what a week they have had against Real Madrid and Manchester City.
βPlayers are playing well β we are going to need to put in a good defensive performance and pose them questions going forward as well.
βThere is an excitement about the game, and to attack a game like this will be a brilliant thing.
βWe have to bring our strengths, and our strengths are unique to us.β
On the Emirates FA Cup third round draw, home to League Two Bromley:
βIt was great to see us get a home draw.
βIt will be a great occasion but we will look forward to that when that comes around.β
Eddie Howe on the importance of creating the right environment for his side:
βIt is about giving players the confidence, and making an environment so they can be comfortable and free.β
George Caulkin of The Athletic reporting on this Eddie Howe Liverpool press conference:
Some interesting NUFC lines from Eddie Howe this morning.
After 2 windows without strengthening team he says βthe same squad can produce a staleness β¦ a negative product. I think weβre aware of that.β Says βfreshness is importantβ but Jan will be about βwhat weβre able to do rather than want.β
Consistency is obviously a problem for NUFC this season but what about consistency of attitude?
Howe says βby and largeβ it has been βvery goodβ but admits βthereβs been moments when Iβve had to make it very clear whatβs acceptable and whatβs not.β
