Apart from signing two teenage sensations Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, Spurs haven’t done much in the ongoing transfer window. While Los Blancos are keen on his signature, according to Paul O Keefe via Last Word on Spurs, Daniel Levy has informed the Spanish giants that the 26-year-old would cost a massive £150 million.
Romero arrived at Tottenham back in the summer of 2021 after making a name for himself at Atalanta. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent in the following summer. He has been the go-to man for the North London club at the back and has had a lot of success on the international stage with Argentine.
The World Cup winner has enhanced his reputation with every passing season and Real Madrid see him as an ideal fit for their team moving ahead with the majority of their defenders over 30. While they are keen on his signature, Levy has made it quite clear to the Madrid-based club that they will have to fork out a record fee to of £150 million to sign Romero. With three years left on his deal, Spurs are in full control of the situation
