He’s ready for a move and Chelsea have already given him a go-ahead! Now is the perfect time 🥰

Newcastle are still in the market for a new winger as Eddie Howe aims to improve his right flank.

The Magpies already have two top talents for the left wing in Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes, although they are lacking someone to replicate that effectiveness from the right.

Newcastle were keen to sign Michael Olise for this position before the France U23 international moved to Bayern Munich.

Then, Newcastle were also linked with Jarrod Bowen – another winger who loves to cut inside from the right onto his stronger left foot.

Now, a different forward of this ilk is wanted by Newcastle – and Eddie Howe seemingly has a much better chance at success than he did with Olise and Bowen…

Newcastle want Noni Madueke

A story from talkSPORT now states that Newcastle want to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea.

The Chelsea No.11 is available after Enzo Maresca decided to sign Pedro Neto to play on the right flank in a £54m move from Wolves, with the Blues needing to balance their finances.

Madueke – who Chelsea signed from PSV Eindhoven in a £30m deal back in January 2023 – only made 13 Premier League starts last season as he battled against fierce competition for places at Stamford Bridge, a difficult situation which has only become tougher now Neto has arrived in west London.

Newcastle are – therefore – on red alert after the Portugal international joined Chelsea, with the Magpies closely monitoring Madueke’s situation and believing they have a good chance of signing the man born in Barnet.

The 22-year-old scored five goals and provided two assists in 23 Premier League appearances last season.

Eddie Howe will need to be stern with the Chelsea No.11 if a deal materialises

Some Newcastle fans may be aware of the petulant antics Madueke found himself involved in at Chelsea last season when the Blues were awarded penalties.

The Londoner embarrassed himself on several occasions by trying to wrestle the ball away from Cole Palmer in front of thousands, acting like a childish schoolboy at times.

Some may recall Anthony Gordon was equally petulant upon his arrival at Newcastle, with Howe and the England international actually coming to blows during a Premier League clash against Brentford back in April 2023.

The Newcastle No.10 was visibly upset to be withdrawn, and slapped Howe’s hand away when approaching the bench before the pair had some words.

Now, Gordon is among the best attackers in England, so if anybody can get Madueke focused, it is the 46-year-old.
