“You’ve got all you wanted!”: Jamie O’Hara & Tim Sherwood set new season OBJECTIVE for Ange Postecoglou after securing the signature of Dominic Solanke

Tottenham Hotspur have put their money where their mouth is by securing the transfer of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old has been added to Ange Postecoglou’s squad ahead of their season opener away at Leicester City on August 19.

Solanke’s record Β£65 million move to Tottenham will benefit Liverpool, with the Englishman starting his career at Chelsea and then spending a brief time at Anfield.

It has increased the excitement levels with Spurs fans, including one Jamie O’Hara.

Season in and season out, you will hear him make bold claim after bold claim about Tottenham and it usually revolves around them being in a Premier League title battle after they start the season well.

The first ball of the 2024/25 Premier League season hasn’t been kicked yet and O’Hara is already off into the distance making his bold predictions.

The former midfielder wrote on Twitter how Solanke is a β€˜great signing’ for Spurs and he is β€˜well worth the transfer fee’.

O’Hara added by saying β€˜big Ange will deliver a trophy’, with Tottenham returning to Europe this term and set to compete in the Europa League.

Tim Sherwood also shared his thoughts on Solanke’s arrival by expressing how he is going to thrive under Postecoglou’s attacking system, as he told Sky Sports.

The former Spurs boss thinks the 19-goal hitman is a β€˜great signing’ and that he will work well with someone like James Maddison.

Tottenham backed to win a trophy after Dominic Solanke signing

β€œI am yes, (confident that Solanke will deliver),” said Sherwood. β€œHe is playing with a style and a manager who wants to play on the front foot.

β€œHe loves pace and that’s what Dominic has. He showed last year, given the chances, he will score the goals. He will get plenty of chances playing for Tottenham. They have got good width. They have got creativity down the middle of the pitch. He makes his runs. He will get people like Maddison who will find him in the right areas and he will score goals for Tottenham, I am sure of that. He’s a good age, 26. Needs to play on a regular basis for a good side and that’s exactly what he is going to get now. If you are a centre forward, you want to play for Tottenham, so it’s a great signing.”

O’Hara added: β€œSolanke is a great signing, he’s quick can finish, hold up play and is really good. He works his socks off and has something to prove, well worth the transfer fee, can’t wait for the season to start now, big Ange will deliver a trophy.”

Pressure on Ange Postecoglou

Say what you want about Daniel Levy, he is putting the players on a plate for Postecoglou and he can’t complain.

Tottenham secured the transfer of Archie Gray from Leeds United and he has been immense in pre-season.

Now, Tottenham have made one of their biggest squad upgrades in a long time, with that much-needed and proven number nine now through the door.

Solanke has already spoken highly of Maddison and Son Heung-min, who should now form a quite exciting and edge-of-your-seat partnership going forward.
