Chris Sutton shares bold prediction of where Tottenham will finish in the Premier League.
Last season when questioned about Tottenham Hotspurs’ Premier League aspirations, Ange Postecoglou was very firm stating that finishing in the top four wasn’t a trophy.
Postecoglou has sizable ambitions for Tottenham, underlining why the club have just spent big on Dominic Solanke, who netted 21 league goals for Bournemouth last term.
Such is their determination to improve, Tottenham could still chase Ivan Toney even after signing Solanke, they’re a club on a mission.
And given how Spurs started last season, even being tipped for title challenge by some, it’s interesting to consider what would represent success this time around.
Do Tottenham simply need to return to the Champions League? Or does Postecoglou envision his side challenging for the top three and beyond?
Well, pundit Chris Sutton has just shared what he believes the reality will be for Tottenham this season for BBC Sport.
Interestingly of the 30 pundits the BBC included in their predictions, only 37% predicted that Tottenham would finish in the top four this season – but Sutton was one.

As stated, just finishing in the Champions League spots might not be considered success by all Spurs supporters, some may feel that the club should be aiming higher.
But Sutton seemed to think that would represent progress when sharing his prediction, tipping Tottenham to finish in fourth place.
Sutton shared: “I am going with ‘Ange-ball’ to get fourth place!
“I know there were a few doubters at the end of last season and I actually met a Spurs fan on the plane on my way home from holiday who said he felt Postecoglou needed to be a bit more pragmatic, but that is not the way he works – he will double down with his attacking style.”
Of course, Tottenham begin their season away to Leicester City on Monday evening before then hosting Everton in north London the following Saturday.
But after playing a big role in pre-season, it doesn’t seem as if youngster Jamie Donley will be around to contribute in those games.
Donley is about to leave Tottenham on loan, a journey that will be enjoyable to follow for Spurs fans this season.
