🛑DONE DEAL Carlos Soler from PSG to West Ham, deal done on straight loan.

Carlos Soler has signed for West Ham United from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old becomes the Premier League club’s ninth summer signing.

“I am really excited to be here as a West Ham player,” said Soler.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League, and to be doing it in London with a club like West Ham is an incredible feeling.

I can’t wait to feel the support of the fans, who I have already heard so much about from conversations with people who know the club, like my good friend Pablo Fornals.

“I am excited about meeting my new team-mates and giving my all for this Club in the best league in the world.”

Soler joined PSG from boyhood club Valencia in the summer of 2022 but has only started 26 times in the league since. Last season, Soler made 14 starts and 14 substitute appearances for PSG as they won Ligue 1 and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at PSG following the summer arrival of Joao Neves from Benfica.

West Ham, meanwhile, have already added to their midfield department this summer with the free transfer of Guido Rodriguez. The Argentina international started alongside Tomas Soucek in West Ham’s opening game of the season.

Soler played 226 times for Valencia before joining PSG. He has also scored four goals in 14 caps for the Spain national team.

West Ham are back in action on Saturday against Premier League champions Manchester City
