Newcastle fans are all saying same thing about Anthony Gordon’s England display

Newcastle United fans are all saying the same thing about Anthony Gordon after his role in England’s Nations League victory against Finland.

The winger played 66 minutes as Lee Carsley’s side cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win at Wembley, with a brace from Harry Kane on his 100th England appearance.

Gordon’s constant energy, running in behind, and pressure from the left-hand side gave a new dimension to Carsley’s team and allowed his teammates to thrive.

While not quite as flashy as his performance at the Aviva Stadium against the Republic of Ireland which left fans open-mouthed, he impressed yet again.

There has been high praise from England fans for his performances during the international break, with many noting how much of a difference he makes to the team.

This comes after he hardly featured in Gareth Southgate’s side at Euro 2024.

Now, though, Gordon got some good minutes into his legs and was allowed to impress in an attacking team – and fans think that bodes well for his return to St James’ Park.

Anthony Gordon stuns Newcastle United fans with display for England v Finland

It had been a slow start to the season for Gordon at St James’ Park, having scored once in their opening four games, leading to concerns amongst supporters.

However, his performances for England have shown he is back up to speed, as he caught the eyes of the fans in both Nations League clashes.

Newcastle fans have taken to social media in response to his display, with many insisting he will now be back to his best when the Magpies face Wolves on 15 September.

As much as I hate International breaks it looks like this one has done Gordon and Isak the world of good. Roll on Sunday #NUFC #England

Others expressed high praise for Gordon’s performance, labelling him “incredible” and “excellent”.

England victorious. Centurion Kane with a brace. Trent back where he belongs. Gordon looked excellent on the left. A fitting tribute to Sven.

Pretty sure Anthony Gordon has taken on more men in the last two games than Rashford has in all his England career.

Please never go back.

TAA, Gordon brilliant, Gomez is fantastic, calm on the ball, great touch. Makes you wonder what could have been if we made a change six months ago.
