“There is going to be a drastic change”: Ange Postecoglou has vowed to do 5-shocking changes to his team ahead of Liverpool game.
Tottenham have lost their last three games and the Spurs boss is under intense pressure.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has vowed to rebuild his team to mirror the football he wants to play after their bright start to the season came crashing down this month. The Lilywhites have wilted under pressure again, losing to Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea and now in danger of missing out on Europe.
The nature of the disappointing defeats has led to further scrutiny of the Australian manager with many questioning his style and perceived lack of adaptability in what is without doubt one of the toughest leagues in the world, if not the toughest.
But ahead of the game against Liverpool, heās come out defending his methods and vowed to change his team and bring players who he believes have the temperament and skill to play his game.
He told reporters at the clubās training base in Enfield: “We need change. Change has to happen. You canāt want to alter your course and expect the same people are going to be on that. Itās just not going to happen.
“Weāve had two windows and weāve had some development of players, for sure, but when I say weāve still got a long way to go, thatās what Iām talking about.
“Itās impossible to say youāre going to have drastic change and yet expect everyone to be on that journey. Itās not for the want of trying. Itās just that weāre going to play a certain way, weāre going to train a certain way and weāre going to have a certain mindset.
“And thatās not for everyone. Whether itās Liverpool or Arsenal, if you look at the beginning of their journeys, by the time they win the competition or have success, the teamās almost unrecognisable.
Postecoglou needs to tighten up at the back if they are to stand any chance of beating Liverpool at Anfield with just two clean sheets in their last 25 games.
