Newcastle United fans are all saying the same thing about Kieran Trippier after his impact off the bench in the 2-1 win v Wolves.
Eddie Howe’s side fought to an impressive comeback victory at Molineux thanks to goals from Fabian Schar and Harvey Barnes.
It was Howe’s use of substitutes that received the most praise for changing the game, and Trippier’s role in the comeback was highlighted by supporters.
Tino Livramento had started the game at right-back, fresh off the back of his maiden senior England call-up, but struggled to make a difference in attack or defence.
When Trippier was introduced, however, his leadership qualities and ability on the ball enabled Newcastle to grasp more of a hold of the game and regain their impressive structure.
Howe’s sides have always been built on structure and coherence within the team, and it was the 33-year-old’s substitution that helped to reestablish those key factors.
The Magpies’ vice-captain remains a vocal influence and leader both on and off the pitch thanks to his experience both at St James’ Park and at the top level.
Despite Livramento’s talent and ability, fans are insisting Trippier should remain in the Newcastle starting XI due to the impact he has on the pitch.
Newcastle United fans say the same thing about Kieran Trippier in Tino Livramento claim
Trippier has played a vital role in Howe’s setup since arriving from Atletico Madrid, but seemed to have been slowing down towards the end of the season due to his age.
During the summer, the right-back was heavily linked with a move away from St James’, with fans calling for him to leave, although nothing eventually materialised.
Now, fans are insisting he should be put back into the starting XI in place of Livramento, thanks to the impact he made when coming on against Wolves.
Kieran Trippier’s substitution changed the mentality of the team btw.
His calmness and know-how was notable. This is a bloke who has played in Euro and CL finals. Today was nowt to him.
That experience is invaluable. #NUFC

you can’t buy what Trippier has and no matter how many times people say Tino is the future it’s the present we are in & Tripps is the best RB & the only leader within the squad .. i watched him late on & he was at all the players egging them on while Bruno just stood there.

Needs to start more, I love Tino but the kid still has a lot to learn, Trips is calm and cool and whatever was up last season, he seems to have sorted it and is getting back to his best.

We are a better team on the ball with him on the pitch, it’s nothing against Tino he’s young and will learn, trips is a level above

He starts in our best 11 every day of the week. Arguably our best player and although tino is gonna be a serious player for years to come trippier is too good not to be starting

Trippier is like a home comfort.
Like you see him coming on and you feel at ease. You know it’s going to be ok.
You know he will do things that take us back to the recent good days #NUFC

Trippier is absolutely integral to this Newcastle team. Livramento is great but Trippier simply has to start. #NUFC

There were people that would have been happy to see Trippier leave in that window. The man is absolute class. Oozes calmness when it’s needed. Still our best RB by a long way#nufc
