Newcastle United supporters were outraged by a social media post from Evertonās official social media account mocking Anthony Gordon for his penalty miss at the weekend.
The two sides battled out a goalless draw at Goodison Park on Saturday (5 October), but Gordon did have an opportunity to break the deadlock from the penalty spot.

Jordan Pickford stepped up to save the penalty as the 23-year-old failed to punish his former team, which is something Everton embraced on social media.
Everton edited a video of Gordonās penalty with a buzzer noise added when Pickford saved it which has angered Newcastle supporters.
Jamie Carragher also questioned Evertonās post after everything that Gordon had done during his time at Goodison Park.
The England international came through Evertonās academy and went on to make 78 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.

Everton created the edit after a fan had claimed they wished the buzzer played, but it led to Newcastle fans calling their rival club ātin potā and āclassless.ā
Official #Everton account oozing absolutely no class. Fan banter is one thing, this is completely embarrassing for them. Typical Scouse Mackem behaviour. š¤š¤¢ See you in May. https://t.co/YYyvZFSfnF

Local lad who came through your academy, helped keep you up under Lampard, wanted out because the club was a shambles on & off the pitch & who you then sold for 40M.

The official account tweeting this about a player who came through their academy who went on to bigger and better things is very weird, itās fair enough for the fans to banter, but the club? Weird behaviour. https://t.co/BjSYjdfr1X

This seems very small time coming from the official account. Would’ve been relegated without Gordon’s goals and have another points deduction without the money they got from his sale. https://t.co/33xU3dBzwG

This is the famous Everton that Iām told a huge club btw, celebrating a 0-0 draw at home with 12% possession. Always told theyāre a huge club, never seen any actual evidence of it though https://t.co/oQvG4sA4u0
