Heung-min Son has shared what he told Brennan Johnson before Tottenham Hotspur faced Crystal Palace, as he outlined how impressed he has been by the winger since his arrival.

Spurs had to battle back from going behind once again on Saturday. Tottenham target Eberechi Eze gave Palace the lead just before hour-mark. And that prompted Ange Postecoglou to make his first change of the afternoon shortly after.

Brennan Johnson replaced Rodrigo Bentancur. And the Wales international went on to provide two of the assists as Tottenham went on to win 3-1 and secure a big victory in the race for the top four in the Premier League.

One of those assists came for Heung-min Son, who put the icing on the cake late on. And speaking to Tottenham’s official media team, the Spurs skipper suggested that he is a really big fan of the 22-year-old when asked about his performance.

“Yes that’s what we need, especially the way we play. We want to play high, high intensity and especially who’s coming from the bench has to make an impact, like Brennan did today. Brennan did two amazing assists,” he said.

“I like this guy, I love this guy. And I just want to help him as much as I can. Even when we started the game, I just told him, just make sure you’re ready. You’re going to make the difference when you come on, so that’s what we need. Brennan did a fantastic job, and just wanted to give him a big hug.

“Goals, obviously, he’s missing, but I’m definitely sure that when he works for the team, and the way he works like this, the goals will come automatically. I’m 100 percent sure.”

Spurs summer signing making bright start

With the amount of attacking quality Tottenham have, you simply cannot rule them out in almost any game. And Johnson has definitely contributed.

The youngster has now scored three goals and provided six assists in the Premier League for Tottenham. That is an impressive return given that he has only made 13 starts for Spurs.

There was plenty of pressure on Johnson’s shoulders when he arrived in the summer. Of course, he was the one attacker to sign following the sale of Harry Kane on the eve of the season.

And clearly, Son is very confident that there is so much to come from Johnson during his Tottenham career.
