Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock has been effusive in his praise for his teammates following Saturday’s big Premier League win over Arsenal.
Willock himself was hailed by Eddie Howe for his performance in the 1-0 victory that sparked Newcastle’s Premier League season back into life.

Still, the former Gunners man has been pretty active on social media when it comes to showering his teammates with praise.
Indeed, he called for Sean Longstaff to get more “respect” after his performance against Mikel Arteta’s side, while Willock also made a big claim about a certain Lewis Hall.
Alan Shearer hailed Hall and full-back partner Tino Livramento for their displays, while Howe talked up the former Chelsea youngster’s significant improvement.

Willock, however, went a step further on Instagram.

After the game, Newcastle United’s official account posted an image of Hall receiving his Player of Match Award, captioned: “Absolutely sensational once again, @lewishall_10.”
In response, Willock wrote: “Englands best Lb.”
Lewis Hall has a great chance to break into the England squad
While Thomas Tuchel won’t take charge of England for the games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland later this month, the incoming Three Lions boss knows all about Hall – having handed him his professional debut while in charge of Chelsea in 2022.
With that in mind and given the fact that England are relatively short on genuine left-backs, the omens look promising for the 20-year-old.
In fine form at club level, it would hardly be a surprise to see him called-up either by Lee Carsley later this month or when Tuchel takes charge from January onwards.
After a difficult start to life at Newcastle, selection for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico hardly feels out of the question. That is some turnaround.
