Alexander Isak has paid tribute to Wor Flags after they dedicated a display to him before Newcastle United’s game against West Ham United.
Before the game started on Monday night, both ends of St James’ Park celebrated Newcastle’s most expensive ever signing.
The Gallowgate End had a banner that read ‘Alexander The Great’, alongside the flags of Sweden and Eritrea. At the opposite end of the pitch, fans held up plastic sheets to spell out Alexander Isak’s name in yellow letters with a blue background.
It really was an outstanding display, with Wor Flags continuing to go the extra mile for this Newcastle United team.

While the performance did not match the display as Newcastle lost 2-0 to West Ham, November 25th 2024 will always be a date that Isak remembers.
He felt the love from the Toon Army, and thanked everyone involved via his official Instagram account.
Isak wrote: “Very disappointing result last night. However I want to take my time to thank @worflags and the fanbase for this incredible experience walking onto the pitch and see this! Truly overwhelming and a moment I will never forget. We go again on Saturday!”
Newcastle fan display unable to inspire Isak against West Ham
Wor Flags paid a similar tribute to Anthony Gordon earlier in the season when Newcastle United played Manchester City at home.
It appeared to inspire Gordon, who produced a brilliant performance that day. He even got himself a goal, scoring a decisive penalty as the Magpies drew 1-1 with the Premier League champions.
Sadly for Isak, his own special Wor Flags display was not followed by an outstanding performance. Unfortunately, Alexander The Great was anything but great.

The 25-year-old’s impressive run of scoring came to an end, having found the net in his previous four Newcastle United games. He thought he had made it five in five early in the game, only for his delightful dink to be ruled out for offside.
Had that gone in, it probably would have been a very different game.
Isak then had another chance to score thanks to a beautiful pass from Bruno Guimaraes, but could not find the target.
It ended up being a disappointing night for Alexander Isak, after it started in such glorious fashion. Wor Flags did an outstanding job yet again, and Isak will hope to make it up to them on Saturday when Newcastle travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
