‘I want to go!’ – Frustrated Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher Eager to join Premier league Rivals

Liverpool will allow Caoimhin Kelleher to leave the club next summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Republic of Ireland international, 25, has made no secret of his desire to quit and become a number-one goalkeeper elsewhere.Last month, Kelleher hinted that Liverpool were not willing to let him leave Anfield.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will arrive on Merseyside next summer in a pre-agreed deal – a move which is set to pave the way for the Irish star to quit.Kelleher had been the subject of transfer interest from Nottingham Forest in the most recent summer window.

 

The 25-year-old is set to be called into action yet again in the 2024-25 campaign after yet another injury to Alisson Becker.Alisson is expected to be out until the November international break, meaning Kelleher will again need to play his part to keep Liverpool’s title bid alive.

 

Liverpool will grant Kelleher’s exit wish in 2025

He has already played twice in the new season – keeping one clean sheet and conceding one goal.The 15-cap international dropped a costly clanger in the Republic of Ireland’s 2-0 defeat against Greece on Sunday (13 October) – passing straight to Petros Mantolos after straying outside his area.

 

Kelleher is under contract at Liverpool until June 2026 after penning his most recent extension in 2021.He has made 49 senior appearances for the club with the majority of those coming in the injury absence of Alisson.

 

Liverpool face Chelsea on Sunday (20 October) before travelling to Leipzig in the Champions League next week (23 October).
