‘It’s getting ridiculous’: Pundit says it’s almost crazy how good £15m Tottenham player is now

Tottenham were back to their brilliant best against Newcastle at the weekend, and one player in particular stood out against the Magpies.

Indeed, Destiny Udogie put in an absolutely brilliant performance for Ange Postecoglou’s side at the weekend.
Not only did the Italian get a goal, he did an incredible job of shutting down Newcastle’s attacks with Anthony Gordon failing to get a sight of goal all afternoon.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Pat Nevin has been full of praise for Udogie and his recent performances for Tottenham claiming that it’s almost becoming ridiculous how good this young man already is.
Udogie is ridiculously good
Nevine was full of praise for the £15m man.

“It’s getting ridiculous, you look at Udogie and he comes up against good players. We know how good someone like Anthony Gordon has been this season, but he didn’t get a sniff and Porro has really come on. Those two, he fact they’ve been brilliant defensively and they’re also midfielder and they’re also in the box, that one Udogie finished, what is he doing there? That’s a centre-forward’s position,” Nevin said.
What a bargain
Udogie has been fantastic this season, and that further underlines just how brilliant a signing the Italian was last summer.

At just £15m, it really does feel as though Tottenham have cheated Udinese a bit here.

Udogie has played just half a season of Premier League football, but you’d already argue that his value has quadrupled, and at the age of just 21, he still has loads of room to get even better and improve further.

Udogie, at his best, may well be one of the best left-backs in the division and his partnership with Pedro Porro down the opposite flank is very exciting to say the least.

Spurs have a real gem on their hands here.
