Viktor Gyökeres fires a brutal message to Gabriel Magalhaes after repeating his celebration against Westham.

Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes performed Viktor Gyokeres’ celebration again this weekend as the Gunners beat West Ham United 5-2

Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres has issued a rallying cry to his supporters while Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes was performing his celebration once again this weekend.

The Gunners’ centre-back courted controversy in midweek when he performed Gyokeres’ celebration – which sees his hands cover his face – during Arsenal’s 5-1 triumph over the Portuguese club in the Champions League. It was slammed by some as being disrespectful to Gyokeres and perhaps meant to mock him during the fixture.

Despite the backlash from some, Gabriel decided to double down on his use of Gyokeres’ celebration when he scored the opener for the Gunners against West Ham in the Premier League. After heading home at the near stick, Gabriel turned to face the home supporters and performed Gyokeres’ celebration.

While Gabriel celebrated, Gyokeres took to social media but he failed to comment on the Brazilian’s antics. Instead, he posted a picture to his story with the caption: “Let’s go,” a rallying cry aimed at the Sporting fans as they look to return to winning ways at home to Santa Clara in Liga Portugal tonight.

The Swede did seem unimpressed by Gabriel copying his celebration in midweek. When told about the incident by ViaPlay, Gyokeres said: “He’s welcome to steal it if he can’t create his own celebration.

“I didn’t know he did that, but it’s fun he likes my celebration.” Gyokeres is thought to be a transfer target for Arsenal and Manchester United as both clubs look to strengthen their forward lines.

United are considered the favourites to sign him thanks to Ruben Amorim’s recent appointment at Old Trafford. However, the Gunners hold a long-term interest in the striker.
