Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have both picked who they think will finish in the Premier League top four after the season reaches its halfway point.
Liverpool and Arsenal have emerged as the two clear favourites to win the Premier League with Nottingham Forest and Chelsea occupying the other spots in the top four.
Manchester City returned to winning ways in their previous outing and certainly cannot be discounted, meanwhile, Newcastle’s 2-0 win at Old Trafford moved them into fifth place.
Just six points separate fourth and ninth with the race for Champions League football really starting to heat up and Carragher and Neville have picked their favourites for the top four
Mikel Arteta’s side will need to make up nine points across the remaining 20 matches which could take some doing given Liverpool’s form. The Reds look unstoppable right now having just thrashed West Ham United 5-0 in East London and making it 14 wins from 18 matches.
Elsewhere in the table, Carragher and Neville are not so sure that Nottingham Forest will maintain their form and make their long-awaited return to the Champions League. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are currently in second place but both pundits predict they’ll end up sixth.
The Sky Sports duo are backing Chelsea to end up third despite their recent wobble and for Manchester City to squeeze into the final fourth place spot.

Revisiting Premier League Predictions: Neville and Carragher’s Mid-Season Assessment
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, renowned pundits, reassess their Premier League predictions amidst surprising twists.
Initially, Manchester City and Arsenal were joint title favorites, with Liverpool and Chelsea expected to complete the top four. However, the season’s unfolding has altered perspectives.
Arsenal’s defensive solidity and Manchester City’s attacking depth have reaffirmed their title contention. Brighton’s tactical flexibility, Aston Villa’s strategic growth, and Newcastle’s financial backing have transformed them into surprise packages.
Conversely, Liverpool’s injury woes, Chelsea’s squad imbalance, and Manchester United’s inconsistent performances have raised concerns. Everton’s financial struggles, Wolves’ inconsistency, Nottingham Forest’s adaptation difficulties, Southampton’s lack of cohesion, and Leeds United’s injury and squad depth issues have left them vulnerable.
Neville now predicts Arsenal will claim the title, citing their defensive strength. Carragher still favors Manchester City, emphasizing their attacking prowess. Both acknowledge Brighton’s emergence and Liverpool’s struggles.
Relegation predictions remain uncertain. Neville believes Everton will face relegation, while Carragher suggests Wolves. Nottingham Forest, Southampton, and Leeds United are also at risk.
The transfer window may bring significant changes. Liverpool seeks defensive reinforcements, Chelsea targets midfield upgrades, Manchester United and Tottenham face potential departures.
Neville and Carragher’s reassessment highlights unpredictability, squad depth, and tactical adaptability. As the season unfolds, their predictions will be tested.
Will Arsenal maintain their title charge? Can Manchester City overcome defensive vulnerabilities? Only time will tell.
The Premier League’s competitive nature ensures surprises. Neville and Carragher’s revised predictions reflect this unpredictability. Their expertise provides valuable insight, but the season’s outcome remains uncertain.
