Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath is closing in on a £12m move to Leicester City, according to reporter Alan Nixon.
Middlesbrough are no strangers to interest in their star players and one man at the centre of almost constant speculation has been striker Emmanuel Latte Lath.
It has been a regular occurrence for the Ivorian’s agent to publicly speak about interest in the Boro star and potential moves to a higher level. That has been no different heading into the winter transfer window.
Links with Premier League clubs have been rife and now, it seems the 26-year-old is now closing in on said move.
Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon has said that Middlesbrough talisman Latte Lath is closing in on a move to relegation-threatened Leicester City. A deal of £12m is in place and looks set to be completed, though it remains to be seen whether there are add-ons and extras on top of that fee.
West Ham and Ipswich Town had also been linked but it seems the Boro star will be heading for the King Power Stadium.
Latte Lath’s contract with Middlesbrough runs until 2027 and also has a 12-month extension option on top of that.
The well-travelled Latte Lath has become a key player for Middlesbrough since signing in the summer of 2023.
After a slow start to this season, the former Atalanta man now has nine goals and two assists to his name in 25 Championship games. His goals have tended to come in patches with the striker currently three outings without a goal after netting in back-to-back games against Millwall and Plymouth Argyle.
Nevertheless, Latte Lath is a key player whether he’s scoring or not. He now has 27 goals and three assists to his name in 62 outings for Boro.
Who else could attract interest?
Middlesbrough have some other big assets they will likely be anticipating interest in, be it in January or further down the line in the summer of 2025.
Rav van den Berg is a big asset and a star for the future in defence while Hayden Hackney is never far away from links. Aidan Morris may well catch the eye too, while Finn Azaz’s starring form will only go unnoticed at a higher level for so long.
There are some fringe players such as Matthew Hoppe who could also be offered routes away from Teesside.
