Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about the availability of Barcelona star Dani Olmo amidst interest from Liverpool.
Multiple top clubs from across Europe are keeping a close eye on Dani Olmo’s situation at Barcelona. They haven’t yet succeeded in registering him and he could choose to walk away for free.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea and Tottenham are two clubs that are interested in his services and have recently made enquiries. Apart from the London duo, Liverpool who were keen on signing him last summer would pounce on an opportunity to acquire his services on a free transfer.
The Catalan giants forked out over €60 million last summer to sign Olmo from RB Leipzig. They were finding it difficult to register him but managed to reach a temporary agreement with the Spanish Federation to register him till 31st December.
Premier League clubs pushing for Olmo
While they have been trying to fully register him, Barcelona haven’t succeeded yet. They have lost the court case and are now looking for other ways. Olmo’s contract situation has put Liverpool, Chelsea, as well as Tottenham on alert.
The Blues might already have a lot of quality in their squad but they are in no mood to let go of such an opportunity to sign an extraordinary talent for free. Meanwhile, Spurs are looking for more firepower. With Son Heung-min in the final phase of his career, Omlo could come in and be the next leader of their attack.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham have already made an enquiry about his availability. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also renewing their interest in him and could rival both London clubs. With Mohamed Salah’s future uncertain, the Spanish international could be an ideal signing for them.
Dani Olmo is going nowhere
Meanwhile, a report from GiveMeSport has suggested that Barcelona are trying to sell the VIP seats of their new stadium to generate money and register Olmo. While the 26-year-old can trigger his own release starting today as the Spanish giants have failed to register him before the deadline, he has decided against it.
He is keen on staying at the Spanish club and his agent Andy Bara has made it quite clear while speaking on GiveMeSport.
The player’s representative said: “I can announce that the decision made by Dani is to STAY at Barcelona.
“We are not considering any other option or club, Dani Olmo wants to play for Barça and his desire is very clear.”
While Premier League clubs are keen on signing Olmo, they are unlikely to succeed as he is keen on fulfilling his dream of playing for his boyhood club having left them almost a decade back.
