Club Drops Asking Price for Manchester City’s Top Transfer Target in Shocking New Development!

Manchester City have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, as the Italian club has reportedly decided to lower their initial asking price for the player. The 24-year-old has been a crucial figure under Thiago Motta this season, though his performances have slightly dipped following his recovery from an ankle injury. Despite this, Pep Guardiola and his team remain confident in Cambiaso’s quality and are determined to secure his services.

The need for a player like Cambiaso has become more pressing for Manchester City following the departure of their long-serving right-back Kyle Walker. The Premier League champions have identified Cambiaso as the ideal candidate to replace Walker, primarily due to his impressive versatility. The Italian full-back can play effectively on either flank, making him an invaluable option for Guardiola’s tactical system.

Initially, Juventus set a high price tag for Cambiaso, demanding a fee of around €80 million. This valuation reportedly made negotiations challenging, as Manchester City were hesitant to meet such a steep figure. However, according to a report from Il Corriere dello Sport (via JuventusNews24), the Serie A club has now softened its stance and is open to accepting a reduced transfer fee. It is believed that a bid between €60 million and €65 million could be sufficient to convince Juventus to part with Cambiaso.

For Juventus, selling Cambiaso presents an opportunity to address their financial challenges. The club has been striving to balance its books, and the proceeds from Cambiaso’s transfer could help fund other deals during the January window or in the summer. However, losing Cambiaso would leave a significant void in Thiago Motta’s squad, given his importance to the team during the first half of the season.

To prepare for Cambiaso’s potential departure, Juventus have already signed the young Portuguese full-back Alberto Costa. Additionally, with veteran defender Danilo expected to leave the club, ensuring adequate depth in the full-back positions has become even more critical. While Costa’s arrival offers some reinforcement, Juventus may still find it challenging to compensate for Cambiaso’s absence, as he has been one of their standout performers this season.

Cambiaso joined Juventus in the summer of 2022 after an impressive breakthrough season at Genoa. Following his transfer, he was loaned out to Bologna for a season to continue his development. The Italian defender returned to Juventus in the summer of 2023 and quickly established himself as a key player under Max Allegri.

With Manchester City’s interest intensifying, Cambiaso could soon be on his way to the Premier League. The English champions appear ready to submit a serious offer, especially now that Juventus have lowered their financial demands. The coming weeks will likely prove crucial in determining Cambiaso’s future, with a potential transfer benefiting both Manchester City’s squad and Juventus’ financial stability.
