NBA Makes Historic Jaylen Brown Announcement During Celtics’ Win Over Knicks

The Boston Celtics needed a statement win in Game 3 against the New York Knicks to keep their chase for consecutive NBA titles alive. Boston lost the first two games at home, despite leading by as many as 20 points in both games.

Determined to flip the script, the Celtics came out firing at Madison Square Garden, building a 71-46 halftime lead. Despite struggling from beyond the arc through the first two games, Boston rediscovered its shooting touch, knocking down 12 of 19 three-point attempts in the opening half.

One of the key players to bounce back was Jaylen Brown. After a rough shooting stretch in Games 1 and 2, he found his rhythm early in Game 3, connecting on two triples before the break.

The second of these shots was particularly significant, as it marked his 255th career playoff three-pointer, moving him into 18th place on the NBA’s all-time playoff three-pointers made list, surpassing Kyle Korver, according to an announcement by the NBA during the game:

Next on the list is Robert Horry, who holds the 17th spot with 261 made threes.

The top three players in this category are Stephen Curry with 650, Klay Thompson with 501, and LeBron James with 480. Brown’s teammate, Jayson Tatum, also features prominently on the list, ranking 13th with 284 playoff three-pointers made as of halftime in Game 3.

The Celtics were able to avoid an historically insurmountable 0-3 series deficit, defeating New York on the road.
