Fans Are Making Major Accusation About Knicks-Celtics After NBA’s Scott Foster Announcement

The Boston Celtics have a chance to even their Eastern Conference semifinals series against the New York Knicks on Monday after winning Saturday’s Game 3.

The win came after the Celtics blew a 20-point lead in each of the first two games, both of which were played at TD Garden in Boston. Much like the Knicks did to them, the Celtics will have a chance to win a second straight game on their opponents’ home floor.

While the oddsmakers at ESPN BET have the Celtics (-6.5) favored, fans on social media are fully convinced that an announcement by the NBA has already decided the outcome. As revealed by the NBA, Monday night’s Crew Chief will be 29-year veteran Scott Foster.

Although Foster is one of the most experienced officials in the league, he has obtained the nickname “the extender,” as a population of fans is convinced that he is assigned to playoff games when the league wants the series to go longer.

A belief that has been echoed on social media prior to Monday’s game.

Outside of NBA insider Tom Haberstroh’s 2024 report that San Antonio Spurs star point guard Chris Paul has a 3-17 record in playoff games with Foster officiating, there has yet to be a significant study done to indicate how many series Foster has truly extended.

Regardless, all eyes will be on Foster throughout the game, and the conspiracies will be running rampant if the Celtics win.
