Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly beginning the process of suing Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS. The billionaire, alongside his company INEOS, has been in control of Manchester United since late 2023 after they purchased a 28.94% stake in the club from the Glazers.

He’s not been a popular figure at Old Trafford following his arrival, though, with a number of different cost-cutting schemes leaving the fanbase and personnel involved within the side unimpressed. Ratcliffe took charge during a tumultuous time for the Red Devils, with the club in debt and struggling on the pitch.

Their fortunes haven’t improved under his regime either, recently recording their lowest ever Premier League finish as they concluded the 2024/25 campaign in 15th. Life at the club hasn’t been smooth sailing for Ratcliffe and things are only getting worse as Tottenham have revealed their intention to sue his company, INEOS, with a lawsuit recently filed.

After beating United in the Europa League final to secure Champions League football, Tottenham are now causing Ratcliffe and INEOS more trouble as it was announced that they are suing the company. As reported by Sky Sports, a lawsuit was filed on Thursday, with Spurs suing INEOS due to the company exiting a sponsorship deal with the club last December, just three years into a five-year agreement.

According to Sky Sports, INEOS have since responded by claiming that they had a contractual right to back out of the deal, but only time will tell how the situation unfolds. Tottenham were contacted for a statement by Sky Sports, but the club hasn’t reponsded at the time of writing.
