ASTON VILLA ‘MAKE CONTACT’ WITH WORLD CUP STAR TO BECOME FIRST JANUARY SIGNING AND IT WOULD BA A SERIOUS STATEMENT.
Ty Bracey believes it would be a great move for Aston Villa to sign Manchester United wonderkid Harry Amass if Unai Emery wants him.
The Villans are said to be eyeing a “shock” move for the 17-year-old after keeping tabs on the youngster during his time at Watford [TEAMtalk].
The link to the left back has come despite the recent form of Lucas Digne and Ian Maatsen in a position which already represents excellent squad depth.
Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, is excited about the prospect of signing the Red Devils’ starlet who Emery may already have a plan for.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Making signings for the future is always a positive thing but we have to look at now too.
“He looks like a massive prospect and it’s something we have done in recent years to look at players for the future.
“To be linked with players with that much potential is an exciting thing.
“If there is a player there that Unai Emery thinks is young but has the potential to be starting games in the Premier League then absolutely it is a great thing.
“It would be a great move for Amass but we just wouldn’t know the plan for him.“
Aston Villa could sign Manchester United wonderkid Harry Amass
Last season, the Villans made a signing of a young player who has turned out to be a star in Morgan Rogers in an £8million deal from Middlesbrough [Sky Sports].
This could be replicated in the upcoming winter window with interest in the left back who appears to be very highly rated at Old Trafford.
It is unlikely that there would be first-team opportunities immediately but with Digne now 31, the 17-year-old could represent the future of Villa’s left-hand side alongside Maatsen.
