🚨 JUST IN: Mikel Arteta sends STRONG MESSAGE to Liverpool boss Arne Slot as Arsenal heaps pressure on Liverpool for the title race.

Mikel Arteta confirmed that he will be watching Liverpool’s game against Manchester City after his Arsenal side moved up to second in the Premier League table with a 5-2 victory over West Ham.

The Gunners failed to win any of their four league games between the October and November international breaks to drop down the table, but they have been in fine form of late, scoring 13 goals in their last three matches to improve their outlook both domestically and in Europe.

Arsenal currently sits six points behind Liverpool, but that gap will widen to nine points if the Reds beat City at Anfield, and Arteta will be tuning in to see how the game pans out.

“We’ve got some momentum,” Arteta said after the win against West Ham. “I think we have some flow back, a real determination; winning consecutive matches against three opponents is great, and we’re going to enjoy tonight and watch a beautiful game of football tomorrow.

“We are in a great moment right now, but in football, be on your toes and prepare the best possible way for tomorrow. Because it is so competitive this league, the opposition that we’re playing every three days, that’s the only thing that you can do. We can analyse a lot of things to improve today, again tomorrow.”

Speaking prior to his side’s trip to West Ham, Arteta had warned 2020 Premier League winners Liverpool how difficult it is to last the course in a title race against a team like City, as he said that his Arsenal team must be ready to capitalize on any slip by the league leaders.

“We’ve been there and to sustain it for 10 months is extremely difficult,” said Arteta. “Suddenly when you think you have it, one day it collapses. It can be a result, through injuries or other kinds of decisions. And it can happen in any moment. We have to be ready for that.”
